What does "Your tax return is still being processed. A refund date will be provided when available." Exactly mean?

Congratulations my friend. 

My federal returns were accepted on 3/1/2020 and I still haven't heard or seen anything thing yet! My refund status page on the IRS website still showing "Your tax return is still being processed. A refund date will be provided when available."

I understand they're short on staff but this is not a small company, this is one of the biggest agencies of the United States government. How could they delay our refunds when we're so desperately need them now more than ever and with no one to answer their phones to explain the reasoning behind the delay? Their website still showing the 21 days as an estimate to when to expect your refund if filed electronically with direct deposit. They ought to at least update that estimate cause that estimate is no longer accurate.

I too do not understand why TurboTax and the media isn't talking about this unusual delayed refunds situation!!!

I filed and was accepted 3/19. I call the IRS and nothing. No person is there to take my call. I also didnt file in 2018. It says i should have recieved mine on 4/17. But i got nothing. Can anybody help me??

I filed my taxes on February 19th and it's still saying its  processing which sucks. Especially because I'm 19 and don't get stimulus because my parents claimed me last year. So no stimulus and no taxes.  But if you OWE Uncle  Sam.. they'll put a lien on your stuff.. 

This government is TERRIBLE.. THEIR SYSTEMS ARE SO OUTDATED.

I'm in the exact situation. I filed 3/22 and I'm getting the same message as you. I didn't have to file in 2018 either. Hopefully they will get to these returns soon. I need this stimulas check!

I filed 2/5/20 and got refund back on 3/17/20 Still waiting on stimulus says it's gonna be mailed 5/1/20

Ive been waiting since March 19th for my to be processed haven't received stimulus check either. I'm on social security disability and figure i would get automatically like everyone else. I file taxes because my agi was more then 12, 200. I don't owe taxes this year or get a refund so don't know why it is taking long to process.

Thank you for that information because my Federal Refund was accepted 3/23 & it has been processing for awhile but You're right,You can't rush nothing, nowadays.Just wait!!!!

Fox News is a propaganda channel for Trump and the republican party. They will never investigate nor broadcast anything that could make the republican run IRS look bad, not even if remotely. NPR, NBC and CNN are the only media platforms that can honestly look into this issue and get to the bottom of it, but they chose not to for some reason!

We should all contact our US representatives and state senators because they're the only ones who can truly make a difference.

At least it's good to know from reading this thread that you're not the only one having this issue.

I also filed my taxes in march, received my state but fed still processing and when I check status of my stimulus it says cant find doesnt match what IRS have on file..I got rejected 6 times from stimulus trying to apply for it..if your taxes are still processing you will NOT GET A STIMULUS
