What number you calling IRS to talk to someone, last I spoke to them was on Feb 10th , when they said I have an error but don't know the error, and my efilling will turn into a paper filling, and allow 8weeks process, I been waiting on my refund since February, TurboTax trying to take their money out my account for their service but I don't have my taxes back, that's going to forst me to close my account, cause they keep trying to gain access, I haven't received my stimulus is been mailed, the IRS have my direct deposit inform, I'm moving out my place in couple weeks, so my check just go be flotting around, I'm not worried about no stimulus check I just want my tax return money would I work my hard sweat time for my family from this is just absurd and ridiculous

Not in my area. the recording basically says because the IRS is shutdown that they are extremely busy and their ability to respond is taking longer than usual and then it says bye and hangs up.
I filed my taxes in February I havent received my tax return or my stimulus payment I have a netspend card that I am supposed to receive my tax refund on . The main thing I worry about is I had a identity protection ppl in number that I was unaware of which caused me to have to go back and paper file after I failed I wonder if this is what's slowing my process down??
Taxpayer advocates are not answering and are not returning calls in a timely manner either.
@mela38kay [phone number removed]. When you called they had not shutdown yet. Since they shutdown the recording says there is no one available to speak with you and when I call my local Tax Advocate their recording says they are busy because the IRS is closed and have longer than usual times to help. After it says that it says by and hangs up. It so frustrating because I want to know what the problem is and when I will get my return.
It really is frustrating. I don't know what to do anymore. I don't see how they are closed..the IRS just audited my friend. They are working to do this but not process our money.
I efiled through turbo on January 23. It was accepted on January 27. I'm still waiting.
@scrfred You can’t until they open back up and I feel your frustration because I filed at the end of January and it was accepted Feb. 2nd and still no refund and no answers nor any way to speak with anyone, leave a voicemail, etc..
@Loves1 I believe they are just not answering calls due to reduced staff and also believe they are concentrating on the Stimulus payments. The returns that got flagged for whatever reason are probably just sitting because they don’t have staff to process them. I just want to know what’s wrong. I have been doing my taxes for over 30 years, never had an issue and did them the same way I did every year. If I find out its a TurboTax tax thing, I am going to be furious.
I received my state refund, as well as the stimulus check. No federal, and I filed back in February. Turbo tax directly removed the filing amount from my bank account sometime after, even though they were supposed remove it from my refund, but still no refund. I also received a letter for further review, and sent in many documents to confirm last years income, the inputted filing information and other expenses. The 6 - 8 weeks waiting period is already passed. Still waiting for the federal refund.
