Hello,
I filed my taxes and amended them the very next day as I realized I skipped one of the 1099 forms. The amendment increased my refund by $2. My refund status says “your return is received and is being reviewed”. Is my return being reviewed because I filed an amendment? Should I be concerned about further delay in receiving my refund or being audited, since the return is being reviewed? When can I expect my refund if my status shows being reviewed? Thank you in advance for answering my question.

First, you should not have amended until your initial filing had been completely processed. That being said, you just have to wait until the IRS finishes its review, which can take as much time as they need,
Thank you. Is it the standard status message (your return has been received and it is being reviewed) for returns that have been amended? I’m concerned that this may lead to an unnecessary audit. Collecting previous years information is not an easy task. Unfortunately the CPA/tax expert who helped me file the amendment didn’t tell me that I have to wait until the original return is processed. Would contacting the IRS help?
No, that's a standard message for any return that is being manually reviewed.
