Turbo Tax 2019 will not install

We have been using TT for about 10 years now. Never any issues until now. 

Attempted to download the software - first from the CD - when that failed from the site on the web. Actually I think the download  occurred. 

When I take the next step, TT gives me a dialogue box - something like "A Windows update is in progress. Press OK to wait, or cancel to cancel the install"

Checked my Control Panel. There are no active window updates. Put the Windows updates on pause, then shut down the system and restarted.  TT still will not install. 

Cannot figure out how to get past this.  We can probably run it on one of our laptops, but the last 9 years of returns are on the mainframe desktop and TT just copies the basic info from last years return.

Has anyone run into this problem this year?

BTW this is Turbotax Home and Business.

This is not the issue. 

My machine is a Dell desktop Intel i5 with 8G RAM and a 500GB hard drive.

Have loaded TT on this machine with no issues for over 5 years.

We are running a 25mbps wireless network. Check the speed every month.

Only difference since last year was a forced upgrade to Windows 10 from Windows 7 when Microsoft ended their support for Windows 7 in January 2020.

Let me share with you this TurboTax FAQ that troubleshoots installation issues.  You may just need to uninstall and start over again.  But there are several other possibilities.  Hope something here helps.
