I'm trying to amend my return, but the only option is to download a program for Windows. I'm using a Chromebook. I have searched the Google app store but nothing comes up

The amend software for prior year tax returns can only be installed on a Windows or Apple based personal computer.

Please state what tax year return you are amending.   A current year 2017 return can be amended online.

If it's a prior year, and if you can't use the amend software for Windows or MAC, then an additional option for a prior year is to download Form 1040X and the 1040X instructions for an amended return at the IRS website and prepare the amended return by hand.

Past years of Turbotax are only available to install on Windows or Mac.

Turbotax Online can run in any web browser but can only be used to amend the current season (2017).

There is an iOS and an Android app, but the apps are only a portal to Turbotax Online, so can only do the current season.
