You can check your e-file status to confirm if your return was filed successfully:  How do I check my e-file status? - Community

As for mistakes, the IRS catches some mistakes and may reject your return.  If this happens, you can fix whatever caused the rejection and re-file:  How do I fix a rejected return? - Community
