The Irs accepted my federal return on Feb 9th. I was able to check WMR every day and it just had the one bar. Then on feb 24th WMR was saying "information does not match". Then the next day, which is today it is now saying "Return is still being processed. A refund date will be provided when available" and there are no bars on the app or irs website. It says the same thing when I call the IRS hotline. I have never dealt with this in previous years and am pretty worried..

Another thing is I filed with Turbo Tax and I just received my State refund today by direct deposit.
It is best if you contact the IRS directly because they will have detailed information about your specific account. Please look at the article posted below for instructions on the best way to contact them.
How to contact the IRS by telephone or get a copy of my ...
@AkinaLO @ Okay and what if I forgot a w2 from a job I worked at for less than 2 months? I did claim exempt for that one also. Would I still get a refund and have to amend later? I did not make money the whole year for 2019 either. My refund isn't that much. I called the irs and they just said that it's still processing and I have to wait until it's been 21 days which will be February 29th
@Krystalfra89 Please see the TurboTax FAQ: How do I add another form (like a W-2) or add/change/update something after I already filed? for assistance with determining if you need to correct (amend) your return.
Well the irs accepted my return on feb 8th and it's still to this day says "your tax return is still being processed. A refund date will be provided when available ". Tomorrow is 21 days.
If your tax refund does take longer than the typical 21 days to receive, see this FAQ regarding What to do if it's been over 21 days.
Keep in mind, in an attempt to protect individual tax filers, the IRS enacted the PATH act. This may be causing a slight delay for many tax filers. See this FAQ for more information regarding Where's my Refund.
I had multiple jobs in 2019..when I filed my taxes feb 8th for 2019 I included 3 w2s which had taxes withheld from those 3. But after i filed, I recieved another w2 in the mail for a job i only worked at for 2 months or less in 2019, and I seen that I claimed exempt for the w2 I forgot about. My return is still processing, but what should I expect to happen since the IRS will most likely catch that I forgot a w2 I claimed exempt on even though I was only working the 2 months for that job?
@Krystalfra89 If you received another W-2, you would need to amend your return.
You will need to wait until it has been processed and you have received your refund or confirmation that any tax due was paid. (If you file an amended return while your first return is being processed, it can cause extended delays for both returns)
How do I amend my 2019 TurboTax Online return?
Amended returns can only be mailed. It is suggested that it be mailed certified with return receipt (or other tracking service) to verify that the IRS receives it.
You can check the status of the amended return here, but allow 3 weeks after mailing.
How do I track my amend status?
If the IRS has adjusted the amount of a refund, will that amount be reflected on WMR once the refund is approved? @CassLO @Anonymous @MichelleLO @AkinaLO
The amended return can be checked by using the Where's My Amended return website located here.
This is a different tool than the normal WMR website and will allow you to track your amended return.
I am not talking about an amended return... the initial federal return I filed was approved today. I am wondering if the amount shown under "amount expected" is the amount I will receive?
Also, I just talked to a turbotax specialist over the phone and he didn't seem to know what he was talking about at all... I have $70.00 in fees that are being taken out of my refund by turbotax, and am wondering if I will be receiving my refund on the direct deposit date shown on Wheres My Refund? because I have read that people aren't getting their refunds on the DDD shown on Wheres My Refund.
If you amend your return, you will not use the normal Where's My Refund to track your return.
You need to use the Where's My Amended Return, which is located here.
If you elected to have your fees deducted from your refund, the IRS will send your return to Santa Barbara Bank, where they will deduct the fees and then deposit any remaining refund into your account.
You can track your refund at the Santa Barbara website by clicking here.
First of all, once again, I did not amend my return.......
Second, I live in MICHIGAN, not santa barbara....
Okay so I have just read reviews from other people that have chosen turbotax fees to be taken out of their refund and waited months before the greendot bank deposited their refunds in their bank accounts and hadn't had any absolution.
Theres no way I am trying to go through that just because I elected to have the fees be taken out of my refund.. now I am pretty worried.
