Why hasn't my status changed

What is your current status? It usually takes 24-48 hours for returns to be accepted. After that, the IRS estimates that most refunds will be approved within 21 days.

It's approved now but I put the wrong account number for my direct deposit. How long after they reject it and issue a paper check?

Once the IRS receives the rejected deposit back from the bank, it can take several weeks for the IRS to prepare and send a check out to the address listed on your tax return.
