Still processing after 21 days

I filed my taxes on the 28 of January. They accepted on the 11th of Feb. Still haven’t got my refund and it still says processing after 27 days. Is anyone else having this issue??

Many different factors can affect the timing of your refund after we receive your return. Even though most refunds are issued in less than 21 days, it’s possible your refund may take longer. Also, remember to take into consideration the time it takes for your financial institution to post the refund to your account or for you to receive it by mail.

Some tax returns take longer to process than others for many reasons, including when a return:

  • Includes errors
  • Is incomplete
  • Is affected by identity theft or fraud
  • Includes a claim filed for an Earned Income Tax Credit or an Additional Child Tax Credit. See Q&A below.
  • Includes a Form 8379, Injured Spouse Allocation PDF, which could take up to 14 weeks to process
  • Needs further review in general

The IRS can research the status of your refund if it has been more than 21 days. Call 1-800-829-1040. Also check Where’s My Refund.

@ErnieS0  I called the IRS yesterday andmy return just got out of the errors department.  It was because of my stimulius. When I filed my taxes, I haven’t yet recieved my 2nd stimulius so when the question was asked if I recieved both stimuliuses I clicked no but then I got my stim a week later. They had to redo my return and change the amount I’m getting back. I should be getting it back in a week.

Thank you for sharing. It's good to have confirmation that the IRS is checking and correctly returns for the stimulus, as they said they would do.

Wonderful to hear you are getting your refund!
