Still no refund

We filed our taxes in Feb using Turbotax. We paid into state (they took the money out the same day) and had a refund for federal. Here it is 5 months later and no refund. I keep getting this same mess

Still no refund

The dates on the TurboTax Tax Home website are only estimates based on the IRS target.

The IRS target is 21 days from the tax return being Accepted to issue a tax refund.  It is NOT a Guarantee

Only the IRS and your State control when and if a Federal or State tax refund is Approved and Issued.

To check the status of an e-filed return, open up your desktop product or log into your TurboTax Online Account. You can find your status within the TurboTax product.

If accepted by the IRS use the federal tax refund website to check the refund status - https://www.irs.gov/refunds

Due to the pandemic and the stimulus payments being handled by the IRS, the IRS has delayed the processing of many tax returns.

See this IRS website for information - https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/irs-operations-during-covid-19-mission-critical-functions-continue

Once the IRS reopens their phone lines and the IRS employees are back on the job, then use this procedure to inquire about your federal tax refund -

Call the IRS: [phone number removed] hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Monday-Friday
When calling the IRS do NOT choose the first option re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.
So after first choosing your language, then do NOT choose Option 1 (refund info). Choose option 2 for "personal income tax" instead.
Then press 1 for "form, tax history, or payment".
Then press 3 "for all other questions."
Then press 2 "for all other questions."
- When it asks you to enter your SSN or EIN to access your account information, don't enter anything.
- After it asks twice, you will get another menu.

Press 2 for personal or individual tax questions.
Then press 4 for all other inquiries
It should then transfer you to an agent.

Still no refund

My original question was cutoff. Here is the full question:

We filed our taxes in Feb using Turbotax. We paid into state (they took the money out the same day) and had a refund for federal. Here it is 5 months later and no refund. I keep getting this same message saying they’re still being processed. I called the IRS, was on hold for 30 mins, finally got a person and she said she needed to get me to the correct department and when she transferred me, I got a recording stating my request could not be processed at this time and disconnected me. Beyond frustrated.

Anyone else file in Feb and experiencing this? https://www.irs.gov/taxtopics/tc152

Still no refund

Millions are in the same position ... the IRS is having many issues this year due to the 3 month virus shut down.

You may want to contact a Taxpayer Advocate in your area.  See this IRS website for Taxpayer Advocate in your area and a toll free number - http://www.irs.gov/Advocate/Local-Taxpayer-Advocate

I called the advocate number there’s a recording that says that everything shut down because of Covid so even they are not able to assist unless you are experiencing a financial hardship.🤷🏼‍♀️
