Should I have claimed my EIP2 that I received in January 2021 on my 2020 tax return?

TurboTax had a spot to input what I received and when I did my total tax return amount went down. Now, however, I am seeing things online (as well as a letter I received from the IRS) is telling me (I think) that I should not have claimed it on my 2021 tax return.

You report receiving the EIP2 on the 2020 federal tax return, even when received in 2021.

Was my EIP2 taxed on my 2020 tax return?

No, the EIP is not income and not taxed.
