On the W2 box 2 for federal withholding is blank. Box 4 for social security withholding has an amount. On my 1040 on line 25a that amount is my social security withholding amount. That section is for federal tax withholding. I’m confused why the social security withholding amount was put there. Should I amend my tax return or will the IRS correct this?

Yes, you should amend your tax return and correct the amount you entered for box 2 on your W-2 form.
Here's how to do that:

Well that’s the problem on the W2 federal income tax withholding is blank. On the 1040 under federal tax withholding on 25a that amount is my social security withholding. Is that a problem?
I have code 570 on my transcript and I think that’s due to the social security withholding being put down as my federal withholding on my 1040.
Yes, I initially misunderstood your question, you need to amend your return and correct the box 2 amount on your W-2.
Here's how to do that:
So this isn’t something the IRS will correct themselves? Should I go ahead and amend or wait to talk to someone with the IRS tomorrow?
The IRS will match the entries on your return with what was on the W-2 that your employer sent to them. If there is a discrepancy, the IRS will eventually send you a notice. Depending on the type of discrepancy, the IRS could reject your return from e-filing.
If you already obtained a transcript of your account from the IRS and it shows TC 570:
The IRS explains TC 570 means a freeze code has been placed on the account that holds the refund from being issued. One of the reasons why this code could have been placed on your tax transcripts is if you submitted your tax return with missing information returns or discrepancies.
This code indicates additional verification is needed and your return processing is frozen until further resolution. You will need to wait until the IRS provides an update (via a formal notice) and/or reconciles the issue internally.
You could try contacting the IRS, but it will be very difficult to get through on the phone at this time.
See this thread.
I went ahead and filed the amended return. Thanks for all of your help.
