me too
My CA state tax was rejected twice. The federal tax was accepted after 1 rejection. Will the state still reject my return constantly or will it realize that the federal return was accepted. How do you get to call someone at TurboTax?
Same problem here. When I first opened Turbotax I was instructed to fix my Federal Deductions and a bunch of other steps which I could never see again. GRRR.
I just got off the phone with TT at 800-624-9066. The TT rep. said their CA forms were not up to date and it was an error on their side (not mine). I screen shared my screen with the TT rep and successfully re-filed my state CA return. Hope this helps.
Did they tell you what the error was? Where to find it?
@ BLR9, They said the error was on their end and it would not show up, even though their notification said it would, when you open your return. I'd suggest calling them, speaking to a live agent and make them walk you through re-filing your return. I just got a text stating my CA return was accepted. Good luck!
Okay, I am not the only one then. Every time I try to file, I have to fill out the credit card info for filing fee. I already paid!!
I finally managed to have the CA taxes accepted. It took several submissions. Looks like the problem was with TT Ca state software not being up to date. On the the third try TT updated the state forms and when submitted it was accepted, thankfully. Glad that stress has been removed.
When I resubmitted my California return I was charged an additional $20. What did I miss in the instructions for resubmitting the return?
I just got through to customer service (very frustrating but finally got a person) MY problem was that it seems there's an error within the turbo tax spreadsheet itself and the formula for one of the fields was wrong, so the addition was wrong. The agent helped me manually override and FIX that number. Hopefully, that will allow the return to go through. If not, I'll print it and mail it in now that I know it's correct for sure.
This is the same message I'm getting as well. And I also get the error message too.
Bottom line, I ended up mailing the return to the state. After manually fixing the spreadsheet field error, I efiled one more time. Rejected again. I printed it out, checked that the numbers were correct and sent the return by mail. Very disappointed in Turbo Tax that they have STILL not fixed this form. There are too many people with the same problem.
When you got to the file my return page, you should have seen PAID next to the state filing section. If not, I'd pull out your confirmation of payment and get on the phone to customer support. [phone number removed]
If you didn't get a confirmation of payment, I'd check your credit card activity to see if the transaction is there, if it isn't, your payment probably didn't go thru. Another darn glitch.
yes, the email you received should have been very specific. Confusing, but specific. I ended up printing out my forms and picking through the numbers and found the spreadsheet error. Not MY mistake, the formula in the spreadsheet field was wrong.
I just attempted to file both federal and state. My federal went through, but (CA) state were rejected. I clicked the option to fix my return, and a message popped up saying:
"There is an issue with this topic in the product. This issue is being resolved in a product release scheduled for February 26, 2021. Please update your software on or after 02/26/2021 (for web products this will happen automatically), run a final review of your state return, make the appropriate change (if any) and re-submit this return electronically. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused."
So, check Friday morning, or wait to submit till Friday. Hopefully, this helps some of you!
