Recover the filed tax returns

After I e-filed the tax returns via Turbo Tax, I accidentally deleted the returns in the Turbo Tax, how can I recover it?

Would you please clarify your question? Are you using TurboTax Online or TurboTax Desktop?

Was this question ever answered?  I just did the same thing on my desktop -- e-filed without saving the pdf (because of a power failure). The 2020 return has been accepted by IRS. Is the work temporarily saved somewhere so I can pull it up and correctly save it? Any help is welcome! I'm a longtime TurboTax user and would like to have complete 2020 records.

If you used the desktop CD/Download editions installed on your computer, the only copy of your tax data file and any PDF's will be on the computer where the return was created.  TurboTax does not store online any returns completed using the desktop editions.

To access your current or prior year tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the userID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/

Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and on the section Your tax returns & documents click on Show.  Click on the Year and Click on Download/print return (PDF)

I get this message: "You haven't filed your taxes with TurboTax yet. Check back once you've filed your first tax return. You'll be able to access all of your completed returns here."  BUT, I have filed my taxes last night with TurboTax e-file and have a verification.  I need to print the return and worksheets, etc.! Thanks in advance for help!

@dewidavid It sounds like you haven't completed Efiling in the TurboTax account where you are seeing this message.

Did you Efile your tax return in a different account?

Recover the filed tax returns

I e-filed from the TurboTax downloaded on to my laptop. I have an Intuit/TurboTax account too.  I worked on the return all day yesterday and filed in the evening. When I tried to save and print, it would not do so -- which I attributed to a power outage -- but the e-file return apparently went fine to the IRS. Is there a temporary copy of my work somewhere on the computer?

Do a file search for file ending in .tax2020.  That is your TurboTax file.  In your Documents folder there should be s subfolder named TurboTax.  That's generally where your .tax2020 file would be but it could be in another location on your hard drive.  Use your wildcard to do your search:  *.tax2020

I've done that repeatedly.  No *.tax2020 file is on the computer.  Is there a differently named file somewhere with all the data?  How did TurboTax e-file without a file?  I had neglected to save and name a file prior to filing, I think.  So where might the file be?

Has anyone ever gotten a response from TurboTax? Impossible to get past the computer voice. None of the "suggested links" go where I need to go. I need to recover a past return due to a computer crash.
