My fed taxes were accepted 2/12/21. I efiled state on 2/13/21 and as of 2/18/21 it still shows "pendind". In my case, I efiled fed and cali but were rejected because I entered wife's name was entered different from last year. I changed it and resubmitted.
My understanding is that FTB asks for your federal adjusted gross income so everything is already calculated in your 1040. I had W2, 1099s (B as well), rental, and self-business. FTB didn't ask me about them. Only used my AGI. The final refund was pretty much the same number as what TT calculated except for the error TT made.
You may call them up to double check.
Hi. Where do find a phone number where you can talk to a "live person"? I'm so frustrated and worried. I too have used TT for many years and my state e-file has always been accepted within 24 hours. Not this time, I've been waiting for a week. Something is wrong. Thank you.
I efiled on February 6, 2021. My Fed return was accepted within the hour. My State return is still pending today. I have been a Turbo Tax Customer for 20 years and never had this problem. I emailed the CEO Sasan Goodarzi at [email address removed]. He referred me to the Office of the president at Turbo Tax.
I got a response from her saying that there was something wrong with my tax return and that they will do a extra review and get back to me in 48 hours where they will either fix it for me or send me instructions on how to fix it. Every one should email the president. I think Turbo Tax had a system failure. I reviewed all errors through turbo tax and the software said I had no errors before filing.
Already receiving my Federal tax refund and my CA state is still sitting here as Pending????????????????
I'm a loyal TT customer, but I may try HR Block self return software next year.
soooo can we cancel our order and use another system?
@maz1326, almost word for word, description of my issue!!!
Well glad to see you got some answers, but not all of us have that connection nor the e-mail to the CEO. ☹️

I finally got an email saying my California taxes were rejected due to some error in the form. I already re-filed through the California Tax franchise site. Now to argue for a refund of my payment to them. This took way too long to fix and the customer service was awful!
They probably finally realize there's a glitch in their software after all the people raising the attention the last few days. I sure hope they reject mine ASAP if there's a problem so I can re-submit it corrected. Big let down from TurboTax this year.
Same here, but I am going to e-mail everyone and someone hopefully responds.
Just got my rejection notice, fixing and re-filing hopefully that solves the issue.
RE the $300 on CA Adjustments, Line 22, my guess is it has something to do with the new $300 allowance for charitable donations enacted under the CARES Act. Perhaps TT needs to modify the way it is handling this. Here is some information...
The Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act, enacted last spring, includes several temporary tax changes helping charities, including the special $300 deduction designed especially for people who choose to take the standard deduction, rather than itemizing their deductions.Under this new change, individual taxpayers can claim an "above-the-line" deduction of up to $300 for cash donations made to charity during 2020. This means the deduction lowers both adjusted gross income and taxable income – translating into tax savings for those making donations to qualifying tax-exempt organizations.
