On January 11th 2021 my bank rejected my stimulus direct deposit as the account on file is closed. I later received the email from Turbotax asking me to update my bank information so I could receive my deposit (which I did), after which it stated I should receive my deposit within 5 business days. The email also stated that if your stimulus deposit is rejected twice, it HAS to be sent back to the IRS.
This leads me to believe that TurboTax actually has ahold of my stimulus at this very moment and I'm just waiting on them to deposit it into my new bank account. There's no way I would get my deposit within 5 days if it got sent back to the IRS.
Turbotax; if by any way possible in the multiple universes today could be the day my funds are deposited into my updated account, it would be a literal lifesaver.
So, am I correct in my assessment that TurboTax has my funds at the moment and not the IRS?
