No. The automatic debit amount on your initial return will be made on or around April 15. The taxes that you owe on the amendment are additional and will need to be sent in separately.
You will need to setup another arrangement because the amended return was not a part of that computation. Now if the payment amount you have set-up will cover the amount of the Form 1040X then you do not have to adjust it. I would not adjust it until you receive a notice from the IRS after the amended was processed.
4/4/21 Thanks for your reply Cynthia. Unfortunately its not clear what I need to do? As mentioned we already setup an autopay of the initial tax due to occur around 4/15/21 drawn from an outside account. The amended return showed another 20% due or so and TT said on their receipt it would need to be mailed in with the Form 1040V Payment Voucher directly to an address noted. That I am fine with and can do that as instructed. My main question is: Will the initial autopay from our external account for the initial major part of our taxes due be made as initially instructed or will it be negated by the amended return and we will therefore need to send it in as well with the increased tax due from doing the amendment? Thanks in advance for the clarification!
