I wish these turboTax reps were all on the same page because it’s like they all say something different and it’s really frustrating because it’s like we just go round and round with all these different reps and nobody’s on the same page. Mine was already approved this year and I get the child tax credit but then there was some type of a glitch and I got an error message and that’s why I’m having a hard time getting back into mine, but I always have the Child tax credit and get approved

What?! That doesn’t even make sense. The advance is through the bank and credit karma not the irs. I have the EIC and child tax credit so I don’t know why they are telling you that. I called many times and got a different answer every time. 

i actually was able to get the advance. I had to make a new account with a new email and wait for my identity to be validated but I still got it. Honestly, I don’t think most of the customer service people actually know what happened. 
I think it was a glitch with the website because when I did it the first time with my original account; there were too many issues that I had seen going through. 
Opened a new account with different email, no issues and got the advance option.

its very frustrating and I tried to be patient because I can only imagine what TurboTax CSRs are dealing with but if you don’t know the answer, don’t just say some bs or hang up on people…

The refund advance option is only available on the TurboTax online web-based editions, not the desktop editions.

Yes I got the free promo and the advance! Absolutely no issues once I made a new account. Just make sure you use a different phone and email or the might flag it as I’ve seen they did to others.

I was approved for the refund advance but when I accept the terms and conditions and submit Credit Karma tells me something went wrong and are unable to open a money spend account for me at this time. It says to try and refresh the page if that doesnt help then try again at a later time or contact customer support. I refreshed paged, I tried again later and the next day too still getting same message. So I contact customer support just to be told there is nothing they can do about it. That this just happens sometimes and they dont know why. I asked for manager and was told same thing from the manager. I even tried to open an account and then file my taxes straight from the account and received same exact message. Anybody have any ideas on what I can do? Thank you

This year was a little complicated to get to the advanced option for me. Basically I didn’t see it at first just the direct deposit in 21 days or so. I’ve gotten advanced for a couple years already.  Anyway I got out of the app went back in hit review again and it showed how I wanted to get my refund there was an option of “revisit” after clicking that it was automatically clicked on the option of “last years method” I kept scrolling down to the rest of the options which were 5 days early, instant refund with advance, and direct depost. I clicked the advance option it told me if I wanted to keep my credit karma money account or something like that but I hit continue with advance it then took me to some questions I believe, and it showed I already had an account with the credit karma money  so I just keep going with that and the sign, agree with the “loan” and it finally took me to a screen with all my info stating my advance and refund will be deposited to my credit karma money. No need to make a new checking account or anything it will all go back to the one from last year. ( which I thought I had not make a new one which no biggie I would of in order to get the advanced lol ) Not even 20 minutes later I get an email saying my advance has  been deposited! Hope this helps if you haven’t already found a solution. Hope this helps anyone coming here for answers like I did

For me I used the Turbotax app and clicked on Creditkarma option for deposit then I backed out of it and the refund advance option popped up.

unfortunately I dealt with this nonsense for over a week such a waste of time the only option if you don’t see it at the very end when you click on revisit either is to completely restart, but you need a new username. You have to use a different phone number and you would have to sign up for a different Credit Karma account. If you don’t already have one it has to be all brand new. I’ve talked to so many reps so many people that don’t know what’s going on and unfortunately, mine was denied because of a glitch in the system and I still wasn’t able to go back and redo it they said that you’re only allowed to apply one time for each tax year. Mine was approved then it was like the screen disappeared and so I went back through got to the end and tried to reapply again so then it denied me because I was already approved which to me is so stupid. It shouldn’t even let you reapply if you’re already approved. The bank that they work with has no options or ways to redact or go back so that way you can re-sign up

The same thing happened to me after I paid the $82.68 that they said was required to get the Refund Advance option to show up. I have filed a complaint with the BBB over this.

Good for you. I am as well. There scamming ppl to make you think you get the advance but just to find out you have to pay. I paid twice full amount over $300 was denied a refund even though I didn’t actually efile. I had to efile with them show proof I efiled just to get a refund on the second charge…bs. Like they were not going to refund me unless I actually filed w them or something. There’s TONS of complaints & issues regarding this on here, fb and Reddit.

Same here. I thought the 5days early was the refund advance option, bv there was no actual stated Refund Advance option. Now I'm kinda mad bc now I don't know if i can even get an advan e now.
