The IRS's accepting date was posted as February 12, 2021. I got an email on the 10th saying my return was accepted? I didn't think they would be taking returns early this year as they warned this would be a "challenging" tax season. Did they still take some early?

IRS accepted some returns early as test. Your refund cycle still remains the same. If accepted between 12-14 you will get DD by FEB 27th if no errors or fraud detected.
TY
So you're basically saying even tho my return was received & accepted on the 10th, it's the same as it being accepted on the 12th?
I don't understand why accepted it early if you still have 2 wait the as someone who got accepted on the 14th😏😏😏
Yes, that is correct. The IRS began accepting and processing 2020 tax year returns on Friday, February 12, 2021. Software providers started accepting completed tax returns early, and held them until the IRS began processing returns on Friday, February 12.
