My tax return has been pending for 48 hours and I haven't received a reject or acceptance has this happened to anyone else.

If your return is Pending, it means your e-filed return is on its way and the government hasn't accepted or rejected it yet. Please see What does pending mean? for more detailed information. 

Once the IRS has accepted your e-filed return, you can check the status of your refund by going directly to: https://www.irs.gov/refunds
