My return was rejected for Husband's 2018 info

IRS requested my husbands 2018 salary.  Everything was accepted last year.  My husband died in 2019.  What is the problem?  I need an answer.

IRS says they can not confirm my husbands 2018 salary.  It is right on our return.  I am getting frustrated.   My husband died in 2019 - we were married in 1957.

You are not understanding me.  Our first marriage was in 1957 and remarried in 1979.  This should have no connection to the rejection!!!  I gave the info on our return.

I need a call back to resolve this.  I did not give false info. My husband was living for the whole year of 2018.  I took the info from our return

This appears to be a bug in TurboTax when the taxpayer is marked as deceased.   It was refereed to the developers months ago and was reported to be fixed in an update, but it appears that it was not.  As of now the only workaround it to print and mail the return.

You can call customer support to ask for a status on any pending fix, but as of now I have not heard of any.  Nobody in this public forum can call you - this is a user forum - not TurboTax support.

sorry for your loss. many joint filers have had issues e-filing their return when one spouse has died in 2019.  are you sure the IRS is asking for salary because to e-file, the norm is the prior year AGI for 2018 (1040 line 7).  on a joint return for 2019 where a joint return was filed for 2018 the AGI for both of you would be the same. form 1310is required. 

if nothing works you'll have to mail in the return.  for your husband sign your name and as surviving spouse.
