The IRS is backlogged and is not able to process returns as quickly as they have been able to process them in normal times. They do want your payment and will debit your account when they process your return—it just might not happen on the date you requested. Keep the funds available in your account and watch for the withdrawal.

Unless you indicated a specific Payment date, it happens on the due date of the return. In either case, the IRS might not take the payment for a while, since it is still working through a backlog.
I'm having the same issue. I filed on April 8 and selected April 15th as my date of payment with the IRS but the funds haven't been withdrawn yet. On the other hand, I have already gotten my state refund. It's comforting to know that I'm not alone with this issue.
In the same boat as well, filed on 4/10, withdrawal date 4/12, got state refund on 4/15, still waiting on federal.
filed on 4/11 irs has not debited my account for the amount i owe
same... filed on the 7th, asked to be withdrawn on the 9th. I contacted Turbotax on the 13th and asked why they hadn't sent the funds... they said it would take 7 to 10 business days from the day of filing... they made it sound like it was Turbotax's responsibility to wire the funds... not the federal government to withdraw the funds... hoping i don't get a penalty for late pmt as a result of this..
So 10 days later than withdrawal date Feds took the money. Hopefully you guys don't have to wait too long now.
OP here....Quick update. The IRS debited my account yesterday. Thank you for all the replies.
Same, my account was finally debited this week.
