Reviewed is one of the first steps in the IRS return processing sequence. Unfortunately TurboTax gets no information about the status of your refund. And the IRS does not notify you unless they need more information about something on your return.
In normal times, the IRS says that most filers get their refunds within 21 days from the time their tax return is accepted. That was the estimated date that TurboTax provided you when you filed your return.
Many returns are taking longer now since the IRS did not process returns for a while and there is now a big backlog of unprocessed returns.
The IRS is currently not processing any mailed returns and is not taking any phone calls.
If you efiled your return, have you confirmed that the return was submitted by TurboTax and accepted by the IRS?

If accepted, what does the IRS tracking web site say about the status of your refund?

I’m in the same boat I verified my I’d on 5/12 passed and wmr status was processing then prob 2 days ago it changed to being reviewed there’s no code or mention of a letter so I hope that’s just part of the process fingers crossed 🤞🏾
How’d it work out for you? Just a normal part of the process? Something else?
You are posting on a thread from last tax season, do you have a question we can help you with?
Hi. And thanks for jumping in. My taxes were accepted on 2/13/21. Had progress bars up till yesterday at which point my WMR status bars disappeared and went to this message below and only this. No other notifications. No other language etc. Just this.
“We have received your tax return and it is being reviewed.”
I know for absolute certainty that I have some old taxes left to be paid from previous years. I’m on an installment program. So there will be an offset. Is that all this is likely? Is that all this message is meant to imply? Processing the offset?
Thanks again for the help @MichelleLO
@GDMJR This is normal and happens every year. This means that the IRS is still reviewing and processing your tax return. As your return moves through the system, the status of it will be updated accordingly. Continue checking the Where’s My Federal Refund? tool for updates. Updates are made daily, usually overnight.
Hi GDMJR. The same thing just happened to me. What did end up happening?
