The only way to prepare a 2021 return is to use the desktop download on a full PC or Mac now. You cannot use online software for a 2021 return. You can download the software and then file the state by mail---e-filing is closed for past year returns.

Or.....get the forms from the state and prepare them by hand to mail in.
