I need to update my direct deposit information from last year, but it is not letting me.

You cannot  change banking information while your return is in pending, nor can you change it after the return is accepted.  The IRS does not allow it.

I didn’t file yet! I’m at the end, it’s auto-filling last years back which I no longer use. I have not submitted anything yet since I can’t remove the bank or change it.

@xmasbaby0  I haven’t filed yet! I got to the point where I was asked my direct deposit information and it was prefilled with my banking information I used from last year. I no longer have that bank account information and there was not an option for change it.

@jennpelczarski Yes----please follow the instructions in the link provided to you.  You have to go to STEP 2 of the FILE section to change your banking information

I’m at the same situation how did you handle this I need advice plz

@Nicolelaurachee  Nothing I did would let me remove my old banking info, I ended up switching to a different tax program. Good luck, I hope you are able to fix it!
