I am having the same issue as of 3/10... still blank 1040x form in pdf. Anyone know when this will be fixed? Thanks!
You don't need it fixed. Save your file out (with the blank pages) in pdf format. Then, go to where the file is saved, right click it, and choose "open with". Choose Adobe Acrobat and all of your pages will be there.
Yes, thank you. You can view it with Adobe acrobat reader dc, but TurboTax still need to correct the glitch because you should be able to view in the turbo tax software.
I had to download the free version of Acrobat Reader DC. Once you get this software installed on your computer, you’ll be able to view it and print it.
I see here that 1040X can't be printed if the original return was e-filed. How then can one submit an amended return if the 1040X isn't available?
You can still file an amended return electronically. The IRS allows e-file of Form 1040-X for the current tax year and the two prior tax years.
I have created an amended 2025 1040 form. When I try to print it the instructions print followed by 2 blank pages and a copy of the 1040. There is no 1040X form to print. Can you help me?
Have you tried saving your Amended return as a PDF, and then opening that file with Adobe Reader?
Remember, there's no rush to get your 2025 Amended Return filed; it won't catch up to and correct your original filing. Amendments are processed separately and can take up to 12 weeks, whether Efiled or mailed.

I have read conflicting information about e-filing an amended return. I e-filed the original return. If I wait as suggested until the refund is in process or paid and then file the amended return can I e-file it or must I mail it?
@panamax If you e-filed the original 2025 tax return, then in most cases you should be able e-file the 2025 amended return, Form 1040-X.
I was able to efile mine. Note that TurboTax doesn't automatically go there. It pushes you to print it which made me think I didn't have the option of efiling. Just click on file your taxes and it will do it for you.
I try to efile the amendment but TT says that I cannot do it because I did not originally e-filed, which I did. It directs me to print and mail. How do I solve this, I don't want to print the return.
If it is the federal return, you should be able to efile unless the correction you made must be filed by paper. My amendment was to correct a 1099 INT form and TT allowed me to efile my federal and state amended returns.
TurboTax didn't recognise your original return as being filed.
I did all that but it says I cannot file electronically. I need to add a 1099 R, is that the reason why it asks me to file by mail?
