Just curious what ever happen with your 2019 return? I googled what would delay your federal refund and I saw all these comments about people waiting weeks and months. When did you finally receive it and why did it take so long? I feel like I’m running into the same issue. Never had this happen to me before 😕
2019 return I mailed in my return about Feb 1, 2019. IRS website could not give me any info about August 2019 I finally got a hold of someone at the IRS a live person. I was told to e file which I did explained I had mailed it already. The gal said e file so I did and within three weeks I got my refund.
I got my refurn waiting on 2020 return
So how long did it take before you finally rcvd your refund? This year so far it's been 37 days and I have not rcvd my refund. It just says processing
This is normal. It can take anywhere from a few days to 3 weeks to update and show the status. The 21 days is just an estimated time frame. The IRS began processing returns on 2/12, you may not find a record of it or the website may say that you have put in incorrect information when tracking your federal refund. As your return moves through the system, the status of it will be updated. Since Turbo Tax will not have the status of your refund, continue checking the Where’s My Federal Refund tool for updates. Updates are made daily, usually overnight.
Tax Season Refund Frequently Asked Questions
I don't think you understand what I was saying, I meant it was accepted on february 13 I no longer have status bars but just says your refund is processing. Now my fiance has rcvd his back weekes ago, my co worker who also claims eic and child tax credit got hers back 2 weeks ago. But it's been 37 days and nothing .
You can't base your tax situation on everybody else's. Everyone's circumstance is different. This is why the IRS reviews everybody's information. Turbo Tax has nothing to do with the IRS, we are not affiliated. We simply provide a way for the customer to prepare a tax return. This is why after you file, you have to monitor the IRS website for your status. We will not have it, we can't see anybody's returns.
When it comes to the IRS, there is really nothing anybody can do except wait for them to finish. You can contact them directly for questions or concerns regarding your return. However, it is difficult to reach someone.
When I filed my 2019 refund last year in February, my refund got picked for review and they held it until November of 2020. Whenever I checked the IRS app it always said processing. If you don't receive your refund after 40 days of filing expect to get a letter from the IRS soon, explaining what is going on.
That's absolutely insane! I have never had a problem in the past. I just don't understand. It's so disheartening. Especially right now when everyone needs money. I make a lil over 12.00 hr working at a hospital as a janitor and am trying to move out of a house that is way to small for my family.. ugghh
If it has been 21 days since you filed your return you can contact the IRS. Help with doing so has been provided by clicking here.
Did you get your return resoolved? I'm on the same boat here.
Finally yes, apparently they said there was an issue with info I put on my return even though I went back and looked over everything and it's all correct.
You can review the answers myself and the other experts posted above for assistance with your issue.

Could be number of reasons for refund delays, especially this year. Generally it is due to dependent verification, refund offset, or information mismatch. You can get a free transcript of your return to review of any holds or codes. Click here to get your free online transcript.
Did you have unemployment benefits. So to not have to process thousands of amended returns, if you had unemployment benefits the IRS could be holding your return for processing once their systems are updated for the American Rescue Plan Act that excludes the first $10,200 of unemployment benefits if your adjusted gross income is less than $150,000.
If you have earned income credit and/or additional child tax credit, it is probably delayed. Returns with either of these credits are covered under the PATH act, which gives the IRS authority to delay the refund to verify dependent information on your return. For 2020, the IRS was not issuing refunds for these returns until the 1st week of March.
Do you have any refund offsets such as back taxes, student loans, child support, state obligations (Court costs), etc. This could delay your refund and you will receive a letter indicating the change.
If you answered the stimulus questions incorrectly, this will delay your refund. If you claimed the Recovery Rebate credit on your return, the IRS is matching stimulus payments to returns with the Recovery Rebate credit. If there is a mismatch, you will be receiving a letter.
