The COVID-19 pandemic has slowed IRS processing times for all tax returns, and the IRS has completely suspended processing paper (mailed) returns until further notice.
IRS phone service is also suspended. But, you can check the status of your refund at this IRS website. You'll need to enter your Social Security Number, your Filing Status and the refund amount as shown on your tax return.
I had filed my W-2 forms back in March 6th 2020 it is now June 1st and I have not received my $3,294 of refund I wonder what is going on and what is the delay
You mean you filed your 1040 return? The IRS is taking longer this year.
Did you efile or mail your return? They are not processing mailed returns right now.
If you efiled....Was your return Accepted? First double check your efile status here
https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/
When you efile you get back 2 emails. The first email only confirms the transmission. The second email says if the IRS (or state) Accepted or Rejected your efile.
Then only the IRS can tell you. IRS Where's my refund https://www.irs.gov/refunds/
Make sure you are using the refund amount from your actual federal tax return and not the combined amount Turbo Tax showed you at the end. That was for federal and state combined.
When you log into your account you should also see the status and if it was Accepted or Rejected, Started, Printed, Ready to Mail, etc. what does it say?
When will you get your refund,
