I have the same issue. I needed to amend my return. I successfully amended and efiled my Federal return on March 26th. I attempted to refile my amended Michigan return at the same time, but it was regected because of the Michigan signature issue in Turbotax. The rejection said that software would be updated and available on April 8th today. I attempted to refile and got an error message stating duplicate SS number had already filed.
TT, when will this update be available or what needs to be done instead?
Ditto, my amended return was rejected due to the signature issue and after the update of the 8th, it will not accept the new e-file transmittal due to duplicate SS. Shall I mail an amended return?
Same, issue, amended return, federal excepted, Sate of Michigan rejected due to lack of signature. Waited till April 9th, updated TurboTax. Attempted to re-file electronically, getting duplicate SS number message.
Unfortunately, was not aware that they would automatically adjust returns. Looks like a few of us went down the same path and filed amended returns. Now just need to figure out how to correct the "no signature" issue created by TurboTax.
I had the unemployment issue but also a late 1099NEC so I needed to do an amended return anyway. TurboTax needs to figure out the Michigan duplicate SS issue
Any resolution yet?
1) Can I? or why can't I? Re-file the amended return with the proper signature.
When trying to resubmit I get this message at the end : "Duplicate Social Security Number: A tax return with the same Social Security number has already been submitted - in other words, it
appears you're trying to e-file the same return twice. If you need to change this return, you'll need
to file an amended return on paper, by mail."
2) "Do I need to download MI-8453 ...... mail it in"? Yes or No?
3) Do I need to send all my Michigan tax forms by mail.? or just the M-8453?
Yes you will need to download and mail form. Yes attach a copy of the original return and the 1st amended return and mark them as copies. Be sure to sign the form you are submitting.
