You should amend if part of your grant is taxable income. If box 5 is more than your tuition, you should amend your tax return as it may be taxable. Amending software will be available around 02/23. You are required to file your 1098-T if part of your grant is taxable, but you are not required to take educational credits. If you had qualified expenses that were not covered by the grant, you could enter those in TurboTax to see if you qualify for any credits. @Bapu77

I forgot to file my 1098 tuition statement from earlier on this year. I already have my tax returns from my job filed, though. Do I have to amend or can I wait for next year to file it?

@Collin178727 - is box 5 greater than Box1 ? then , there is taxable income to report.
if box 1 is greater than Box 5, I wouldn't worry about it, but if you were claimed by someone else (parents), they could be eligible for AOTC Tax credit,
