The IRS estimates that most refunds will be sent within three weeks after your e-filed returns are accepted. Many refunds will come sooner. The IRS does not work on first in, first out. The amount of time it takes to process your return will vary from everyone else, even if you both have similar returns. You can check the status of your refund by going to www.irs.gov/refunds. You can also click here to see a chart with estimated refund dates based on the date your return was accepted by the IRS.
No, this was not helpful. The chart that you referred me to showed that according to the date my taxes were accepted, I should have received my refund by now. I haven't.

It does not matter when you filed. It matters more when it was accepted and what the status has been since. Everyone’s is different so I wouldn’t compare to your nephews. If it were my guess, you’ll get it this week Thurs or Friday in your account. Up to 21 days from when IRS accepts it. Just because you filed the 29th does not mean that’s when it was accepted.

No one in a user community can tell you when you are going to receive a tax refund. There are too many variables. The IRS does not handle all returns the same, and they don't want to be called unless processing goes longer than 21 days. Any chart you see is an estimate. We can, however, tell you things to check about your specific return that may tell you what the IRS is doing.
The IRS says 9 out of 10 filers who efile and choose direct deposit will get their Federal refunds within 21 days. That still leaves a considerable number of filers who don't receive theirs within 21 days. Some returns are processed fairly quickly, while others require additional processing due to specific items in the return. Some are pulled at random for more thorough investigation. And at this time of year (February) some filers will have delays due to the PATH Act that I mention at the bottom of this posting. You, however, said you are not subject to the PATH Act. Sometimes the IRS will add EIC anyway if someone qualifies for it. In any case, you are still within the normal time frame.
Did you efile, or did you choose to print and mail the return? If you filed by mail, it can take about 6 weeks to get a Federal refund.
If you efiled, double-check to be sure the return was efiled successfully and accepted.
If you used Online TurboTax, you can sign into your Online Account and check the efile status at the Tax Home.
If that showed it was accepted, you can use the "Where's My Refund" tool at the IRS website below to monitor the status of your Federal refund.
https://www.irs.gov/Refunds
NOTE: When using that tool, use only the Federal refund amount, and not any total refund amount that includes a state refund.
The amount to use is on your Federal Form 1040, Line 21a.
NOTE: By law (the PATH Act), the IRS will not begin issuing refunds on tax returns claiming the Earned Income Tax Credit (EIC) or Additional Child Tax Credit (ACTC) until after February 15. So filers with those credits likely won't get their refunds until late February, or in some cases, early March. You said you are not subject to that, but the IRS may add EIC anyway if someone qualifies for it.
In any case, if you are sure your return was accepted, then you are still within the normal 21-day time frame. If it goes longer than 21 days since acceptance, you can phone the IRS to see if they can tell you anything about the delay. Or you may find a message from the IRS in the WMR tool indicating what the delay is.
