I didn't use Turbo Tax for 2020. I need to apply my 2020 refund to 2021 tax

Go to :

- Federal Taxes    (Personal for Home & Business)

- Deductions & Credits

- under Estimates and Other Taxes Paid  click on  Income Taxes Paid

- under  2020 Refund Applied to 2021– Start or Update

Try this:

• Log in and open your 2021 return, if not already open.
• Once the return is open, click on the Search tab at the top.
• In the search box enter this exact phrase:  applied overpayment  (without quotes) and then click the adjacent magnifying glass icon.
• Click on Jump to applied overpayment.
• Next screen:  Estimates and Other Income Taxes Paid.
• Scroll down about 2/3 of the page to 2020 Refund Applied to 2021 and choose the proper topic for type of payment (Federal, State, Local.)

Before filing, make sure the payment shows up on your return so you get credit for it.
