Wait til you receive your refund, then amend return. If you don't wait you will have to wait another 16 weeks for refund. I learned the hard way a few years ago.
If your return has been accepted by the IRS, you'll need to amend your return. If your return is pending, you won't be able to make any changes until it's accepted or rejected by the IRS.
If your return is rejected, you'll be able to add your W-2 to your income tax return.
