How do I update bank account information for direct deposit of the stimulus money being sent out because of COVD-19 ?

We are still waiting for IRS guidance regarding updating or providing direct deposit information for the economic impact payments. We will have more information once the government finalizes the details.

I haven't filed yet for 2019.  For 2018 I paid my  obligation with a credit card, not  directly from my bank account.  This is because I was in the process of changing my bank account.  How will the IRS know where to send my stimulus check?

The IRS is working on creating a portal for you to enter your deposit information.  No word on how long before it is available.
