What do you mean nullify? Have you filed it yet?

I got married last November. When I filed I filed "married filing separately", then my wife's accountant, for my wife's tax purposes, asked me to amend it to "married filing jointly" . I did that, and now her accountant is asking me completely nullify my tax return and start over.

We still don't know what he means. Better have the cpa try to straighten it out. Did you file the Amended Joint return? Was it Accepted? Why does he want you to cancel or change it?

I haven't filed the amended return yet. I printed it out and my wife brought it to the accountant who then said it needs to be nullified, but offered exactly zero advice on how to go about doing that.
It's very frustrating.
