what change on the w-2c? if it's only social security and medicare wages and related withholding you do not need to amend. there also be other changes that do not require you to file an amended return.
a possibility is that you have multiple Turbotax accounts and you are in one from which you did not e-file.
to find the right account
Thanks. My tax withhold on my W2 is incorrect. So, I need to amend it. I use the turbo tax desktop software : when I click on tab "e-file status" in the software. It is written " Your 2021 federal returned accepted".
If you used the Desktop program you first need to update your return with the filing status so it knows it was filed and accepted. Open your return and go u p to menu item
File>electronic Filing>Check Electronic Filing Status
Then save your return and close and reopen it.
But I have seen posts from people saying they can't efile the amended return from the Desktop program. Seems to be a glitch. It might have been reported.
But if the withholding was wrong the IRS should catch that and fix it for you. You might not need to amend. Have you got the first refund? Did the W2c increase or decrease the withholding?
Thanks for the suggestion: I tried it. It does not work. I paid for the first tax return due the W2. With the W-2C I currently have, I will receive the re-fund.
