Dear Taxpayer

As long as everything is correct, there is nothing to worry about. The IRS will notify you if they find any issues and also if they need any additional information. The only thing now to do it to wait.

Dear Taxpayer

I just recieved a letter in the mail saying that exact thing and stating I was chosen for a 60 day review. Hoping it doesnt take that long though because our truck needs some things fixed.

Dear Taxpayer

Most often if they are saying 60 days, it will take the entire 60 days to review. They do like to be thorough and ensure the return is correct.

Dear Taxpayer

@CarissaM  do you happen to know why they would review it? Theres nothing different other than we bought a house this year (in 2020 so not claimed on 2019 taxes). Also when I googled about it people last year (and this year) stated they recieved a letter like mine but then recieved a DDD of March 2 or March 4. I'm prepared to wait the full 60 days but I'm not understanding why it's happening. I've never had this happen before and I've been filing with TT for 5 or 6 years now.

Dear Taxpayer

It is not something you have done wrong. The IRS performs randomized reviews, just to check more thoroughly on returns. It is almost like a lottery, they pull random numbers from the pool and you just got lucky enough to be pulled this year.

Dear Taxpayer

Correction... the letter says up to 60 days not a definitive 60 day review.
