I cant find my last post to reply back to all who tried tot help but I gotta say, TurboTax, this is ridiculous. I can not import last years (or any years) return into this years download version. I have used turbo tax for years and having the prior years information for comparison is incredibly helpful, having to reenter ever section from scratch is to say the least, a hassle. I especially don't want to pay over $100 to just redo everything I already had!
And from the forum posts I don't think I am alone in this.

I can't import last years taxes either .tax or pdf help
You cannot transfer from a PDF. You have to have the .tax2021 file. Do you have that on your Mac?

You can only transfer from the immediately preceding year. When you start your 2022 tax return you have to transfer from 2021, not from any other year.
In your earlier post you said you did your 2021 tax return on an iPad. That means you were using TurboTax Online. The iPad app is just an interface to TurboTax Online. So you have to download your .tax2021 from your TurboTax Online account. Did you do that? Then did you follow the instructions at the following link?
How do I transfer last year's return into the 2022 TurboTax software for Mac?
If you have the .tax2021 file on your Mac and you are still unable to transfer, contact TurboTax support for help.
Another way to transfer from 2021 to 2022 is to start your 2022 tax return in TurboTax Online. It should automatically transfer your information from 2021. Then you can move the 2022 tax return, which includes the transferred information, from Online to desktop. Doing it this way might be easier. See the following FAQ for instructions.
