Can I mail my California State tax but pay tax due online?

Hello,  I want to mail my California state income tax by mail, but I want to pay my tax due online at FTB website.  How does FTB connect my paper states income tax with the payment I made online?

Yes, you can do that. When you pay online you provide your information, so it will be linked to your account and when FTB receive your paper return they will match the information.
