Greetings about how many months? Asking because it's been almost 4 months on mines and still nothing. Called about a month ago and they couldn't tell me again except be patient lol smh
Mine was received March 26, 2021. And has not been processed yet. We got denied a mortgage because of it, lost money on inspections and appraisals! They are really messing with peoples lives. Sad.
Still waiting. Hopefully soon but doesn't look to promising when you read the other responses.
I'm not going to call to hear all that. I'll just wait. Maybe a nice Xmas present. Hohoho 😁
And clearly, THEY DONT CARR!!!
Exactly! People need their money! I certainly need mine.
if you live in Georgia your not going to get any...
I came across this forum because I have two amended tax returns out there in the irs black hole. I never had such problems with getting a refund before ever. I filed my 2020 tax return in February. I did it early bc I really needed the money bc I’m a single mom. Well they flagged my return for identity theft. Got that cleared up. Then I get a letter in the mail in April stating my tax return was adjusted and that I will be getting my refund in six weeks. Six weeks goes by and nothing. By some miracle I got a person on the phone and the person told me that my return was under review bc the turbo tax software put my 2019 wages in stead of 2020 and that I needed to file an amended return. Ok I did that in may, may 17th to be exact. Every day I check and it says it’s been received.
I’m so discouraged after reading some responses that it takes 6 months or longer to be processed. I really need that money and I’m at the point where I’ll most likely have to take a loan from my 401k. IRS really screws with peoples lives. I know they are backlogged from the pandemic but they should hire more staff.
My 2019 return had errors on it and I amended that return as well.
Who knows when I’ll actually get money back that is owed to me.

You might consider contacting the IRS Taxpayer Advocate Service. They are especially prone to help if you have an economic hardship.
If you wish to do that, at the following IRS website, find the USA map and click on your state, and it will give you the number of your IRS Taxpayer Advocate.

I completely understand it is terrible! We are about to lose a house we put an offer on. It was our first time so we didn’t really think to check the amended status. Already got denied from one mortgage place that took 60 days to deny us!! We are trying one more but all of them say the same thing “ we need the return to be processed” ridiculous! Something needs to be done. Mine was efiled March 26! And I owe!! So, it doesn’t matter if you owe or they owe you. It is all backed up.
I haven't heard anything
September 3rd will be my 18month anniversary (IRS confirms receipt as of March 3rd, 2020) of "we've received your amended return but it has not been processed yet"
and since i call them every 3 months i'll also get to hear a human tell me that they can't give me any information. fun times. The worst part is when they lie and tell me they process them in the order they receive them.. no way
Wow that’s a long time. I hate calling the irs. They never have information that is useful. It’s so incredibly hard to even get someone on the line. It’s ridiculous.
Thank you for telling about the tax payer advocate. I filled out a irs form 911 today and faxed it. I’m hoping that they will help me getting my refund. This is my last resort besides waiting.
Sorry to hear about all this I guess we are all in the same boat!
I mailed mine May 2020, they received it into the system May 2021 and I’m still waiting, still not processed! IRS really stinks and will we get interest on our refund??!! Probably not!
