Do I need to amend both my federal and state returns in order to add a 1099-R form, or will entering it on the federal return suffice?

It is entered in the federal section and will be carried to the state interview.
If it is carried to the state return,
doesn't that mean the state return is modified before clicking "Amend State Return" ?
@fanfare If I recall correctly ... as you enter the state interview again( after filing ) you are asked if you want to amend it first then the new info is transferred by clicking continue.
Some states don't tax retirement pay. These states are New Hampshire, Tennessee, Alabama, Illinois, Hawaii, Mississippi, and Pennsylvania that exclude pension income from state taxes. If you live in one of these states, you do not need to amend your state return.
