I am ready to amend my 2022 taxes because I mistakenly listed over $4,000 in IRA contributions, having been confused about the difference between employer sponsored retirement contributions and personal IRA's.
When I try to use the TurboTax online amending process, it shows me adjusted numbers for my 2022 state returns and doesn't seem to allow me the option to only amend my federal return.
However, from what I have researched online, my mistake shouldn't affect my state returns (KY & AL), so I only need to amend my federal return. Is that correct?

Yes, you are correct. if there are no changes to the state returns you are not required to amend or submit those returns to either state.
Print and mail only the federal amended return. Keep all information in your file in case either state does send a letter asking if you should amend since you did amend the federal. This is common and it may take a while before the state actually connects the information.
