I forgot to file a Form 1098 on my 2023 taxes. I discovered this while my refund was in process with the IRS. I went on H&R Block website to do a sample of what the difference would be with my 1098 added and it showed $79 more on my original refund. Now that I've received my original refund, I tried to amend 2023 with 1040X using TurboTax online and it shows $0 difference. Why is this when H&R Block showed I should have gotten more with the 1098 even using STANDARD DEDUCTION?

Mortgage interest (and property taxes) shown on a form 1098 are itemized deductions and can affect your taxes only if you use itemized deductions.
If after entering form 1098, your itemized deductions still total less your Standard Deduction, your taxes will be unchanged. And the amended return will show $0 additional refund.
