well so far, things are going, slow but moving. Thank for your response.
@BellaNJakesMom so you telling me that if my income is verified with ssa from irs that most likely mean irs finished processed your tax return
@BellaNJakesMom I'm on turbo tax looking at the drop down you were talking about but dont see it
Just because the ssa has your income does not mean the irs is done processing your return. It just means they can match it together in there system. Thats it. From there its upto the irs to process everything. Unfortunately the irs is not to transparent on what they are doing with your account while through the processing stage. all we get is where's my refund to check. It sucks I know but nothing else will tell you what's actually going on. Best to just find patience and wait for the 16th.
How do we check the SSA?
@toriwright93 you have to create a log in on the ssa website
Yes that happen to me also.
@Kesi12 So if your income is verified from SSA to irs does that mean your return is done processed and I’m waiting on my DDD because i see my wages i make from last year
Ok as long as im hear ,if TT says you earn it why the big hold up.I m paying for service, that i used for over 20 years and now theres a waiting period! Does TT need to make changes in this path act or at least inform you there be a wait. Because im doing my taxes right I hope! well just wandering thank you.
@Kesi12 Only if you are self-employed because SSA doesnt know your income, no W-2.
W-2 is already sent to SSA by your employer, that's why this only pertains to self employed.
Really all they are doing through SSA is verifying your information checks out. That's how they verify your name etc. I changed my name mid year and the irs will notice but also will be able to verify that that's my name attached to social
@caron1981 That is correct unless you are SELF EMPLOYED. The SSA goes by what is received by the IRS and updates their system with earning sent from IRS.
@Shottamike23 I dont think it means they are done they just verified you were you
@BellaNJakesMom @Shottamike23 exactly what shes said used to verify us personally but people self employed they verify and report income to them
Self employment income is a whole nother beast. IRS audits, reviews and holds on returns substantially go up vs normal reporting from w2s Depending on how you filed your self employed income it can be a snap or a complete nightmare dealing with the irs.
Anyone self employed and makes over 5k a year should really get a federal tax I'd number. Less hoops to jump through during tax time. IRS dont trust self employed income.
I've reviewed numerous self employed businesses and you won't believe the catastrophic errors made at the end of the year.
