When I filed this years returns, this morning, I was happy to find out that my information from 2020's filing was still available. In any event, It turned out that I owed taxes last year and wasn't able to pay them. What I am wondering is (and the two amounts that I owed came up in different parts throughout..) did that amount I owed to the IRS and the State of Colorado get subtracted from this years return?? I have a hard time believing that the total I owed Colorado would have been taken out of the return I am receiving in Michigan... I just want to make sure I don't owe anyone any money!
Any advice or direction would be much appreciated!

Taxes owed for a prior tax year are not reported or entered on a current tax year federal or state tax return.
If all your 2020 data transferred to TurboTax in 2021, then the amount you paid for state income taxes would be listed in your itemized deductions. This amount would need to be subtracted from your State Income Tax deduction on your Schedule A, especially if you are itemizing your deductions again in 2021.
To see if you have an amount listed and remove it please follow these steps:
