How do I track previous year’s taxes that were filed this year from a turbo tax user?

There is no way to track it because the IRS does not have a tracking site for prior year returns filed after the normal filing season ended in 2019.
I understand that, but is there a way to see if the person that filed our 2018 taxes through Turbo Tax actually filed the taxes for us?
When do you think it was filed? If it was after Oct 15, 2019 they would have had to use the Desktop CD/Download program and not online and mail in the return with your signature in ink.
If they used the Desktop program it would only be on their computer and not show up in Turbo Tax Online.
The only way to know for sure is ask the IRS or get a transcript from the IRS.
Hi again. She says she originally electronically filed it on March 27th of this year and then said that wasn’t true. She said she then filed it two weeks ago after she filed our 2019 taxes and that it was electronically filed. The paperwork she gave us says that it was printed and mailed, which is why we need to know the truth and as the IRS isn’t taking calls, we can’t get an answer from them. I was just trying to find out if there is a way to track it through Turbo Tax. It would have also been mailed without our signatures as well.
Well she definitely could not efile a 2018 or prior year this year from Turbo Tax. Efile for 2018 closed on Oct 15, 2019.
Sorry you can not track a prior year return or mailed return through Turbo Tax.
If it was printed and mailed without your signatures, the IRS will not accept it. They will return it for your signatures. It will likely take a long time for that to happen since they will no doubt process 2019 tax returns first. It sounds like this was not a very reputable tax preparer.
Thank you for letting me know! We will take the necessary actions against her for sure and never use her again!
