Why is the software not saving changes I make in an "EDIT" option?

I'm trying to remove a hypothetical entry showing my wife contributing to a personal HSA acct. in 2018. The software corrects my entry, but then as I continue thru the guide, it adds the hypothetical entry back again. The running tally of my "tax due" in upper left doesn't change, with or without the entry? Can someone help me with this? Thanks.
