I have a question, I have question.
I bought a house this year, and I am trying to get solar, they told me about a home improvement stipend that would go straight to them, I wanted to know more about it and if that was accurate.

Those trying to sell solar can confuse you badly and they cannot possibly tell you how many tax years it may take to get the credit from the IRS ... I have one client who will never be able to use the credit. So they usually will write either 2 different contracts (one for the solar credit portion and one for the rest) or one contract showing what would happen if you apply the credit you get to pay down the balance due. At no time does the IRS credit ( not stipend) go directly to the solar company. Review your returns and look at the federal tax only ... that would be the max the credit could be after non refundable credits are taken first ... this is not necessarily what your refund will be. Seek local professional guidance before you sign any contract.
you bought house. how old is the roof?
the solar has to come down to replace your roof.
you'd better get several estimates if you don't want to be ripped off.
