New Jersey state return I qualify for an exemption from the shared responsibility payment. Where do i enter my number or will I just get reimbursed down the line?

To Edit this in TurboTax:

• Open the return
• Select State Taxes if multiple states choose NJ
• Select Go over New Jersey
• At About Your Health Insurance select the answer that applies
• It will ask about dependent's income
• On the Did Anyone In Your Shared Responsibility Family Have Coverage For Some of 2019 answer for your situation

Follow the prompts to enter coverage and Exemption months for everyone in your family. It will ask for your exemption number.

For those claiming an exemption for the entire year, you must also answer YES to the question "Did you have healthcare for part of or the entire year" in order to trigger the exemption--even if the taxpayer never had health insurance.
