Need help please

I made an amendment to correct a date for my son and today 16 weeks later I receive this, "We received your amended return on March 05, 2020. However it has not been processed." Can anybody help me? Because I don't know if they rejected it, or I have to do it again or what!

No, you do not have to send in another amended tax return. Since the IRS has received the amended return then you can follow the status on the IRS website for amended returns - https://www.irs.gov/filing/wheres-my-amended-return
